When i was about 8 ,Madre , being a geography teacher bought me a "Child's Atlas of the World" which explained how people in hong Kong because it was so crowded lived their whole lives on sampans or small boats in the harbour. Well they've gradually reclaimed more and more land and moved into high rise but in Aberdeen Harbour on the south coast there are still about 60,000 people who live in sampans or houseboats and we took a sampan trip round the harbour. What was more obvious was the number of very expensive yachts selling pre-owned for >$1,000,000.
