Well 5,699 miles later we've made it to San Francisco. It's cold, 17C, but they think it unseasonally hot. I don't think California is going to be on my top 20 places to migrate to. The city has only a few high rise buildings and some quite pleasant houses which by american standards are quite old often with infill which is sympathetic.
We didn't go to "The Misfits" at the Castro Theatre (read cinema) but considered it. Beloved asked what was special about the Castro and I said I thought it was like the ''Prince Charles" Leicester Square but without the fancy dress sing-along Sound of Music.When we got there they were advertising a Sing-along Fancy Dress Sound of Music.

Strangely the iconic San Franciscan site cannot be seen from most of the city nor from the park bearing its name.
