I'm sitting in the departure gate at Changdi Airport (Singapore) using their free Wi Fi connection. We've been travelling for 24 hours with 10 to go to our destination. Heathrow was a nightmare as they re-security everybodtycoming into the terminal through transit but had only a third of their machines manned so there were major queues and everybody slightly bad-tempered. No time to buy sweeties or a drink so I managed to have a hypo. Changdi is wonderful except it won't let me upload my photos to the web. It has a free cinema which we skipped as the film in our timeslot was Battleship which sounded a bit toys for the boys, There is a wonderful free butterfly garden which are the pictures iIwanted to upload;reasonably priced showers and a food court, lots of shops and a bar with live music. If you have a long stopover during the day you can have a free bus tour of singapore island.
This blog was interupted to get on the plane. My view of Changdi was not quite as enamoured when we got to Dehli and found they'd managaged to leave our hold luggage at Singapore. Still it has made me think that a new airport on these lines and building housing on Heathrow would be the best solution to the London Hub problem
