Jagdish Temple

The luggage arrived last night. Beloved had a mad dash in a taxi through dense traffic to collect it before the airport office shut and just made it with 5 minutes to spare. He said it was like the chase in Octopussy (which was made here) but on land. We have the luxury of a choice of clean clothes and Beloved was able to shave which is just as well he was beginning to look decidedly seedy. I thought we may have hit upon how to travel without luggage, wear it one day washed the next roundabout but razors have to be in hold luggage.
Feeling refreshed we went to the Jagdish Temple just behind the hotel, dedicated to Lord Jagannath, an aspect of Vishnu. You can take pictures of the outside of the shikhara which is covered with carvings of dancing apsaras and scenes from the life of Vishnu but not inside the mandapa. The temple feeds and clothes all in need and there are few beggars in the town because of this so it is appropriate to make an offering.
We had been emailed by the juggler that the uk is covered in snow and flights from Heathrow disrupted. Sitting on our terrace in Tshirt weather sipping cold beer we agree with him we got out at the right time. So Madre and friends as we have no communication with you you will have to comment on the blog to let us know you are alive.
