We had intended to visit Ajmer yesterday but changed our plans because of our arrival in Nasirabadand went to Pushkar instead so we set out for Ajmer today. This was a mistake because the place to visit in Ajmer is the mosque and Ihad forgotten it was Friday. It also turned out to be the Prophet's birthday and roads were closed off to allow the faithful (male) to attend noon prayers, so we gave up and came back to the hotel.
It has been a very pleasant afternoon. It is bitterly cold at night here and nowhere seems to have any form of heating although blankets and hot water are plentiful, but in the afternoon sun temperatures must be in the low twenties , just comfortable to sit out on the balcony and read and sort emails. There is also a pleasant garden although some children arrived for the weekend had commandeered that for a game of cricket early in the afternoon. The balcony has comfy chairs and modern "traditional" pictures although we are of to Mandawa in the Shekawati tomorrow to see the real thing.
Result! Without prompting the owner has given me a little 1000w electric fire but you can feel the difference.
