Museum Hill

2 miles out of the town centre is museum hill. The roads on the way up to it are filled with atr galleries selling very expensive art. This is a rich town, the state capital brings politicians and lobbyists, and the artistic community is attractive to big name film stars.  30 % of the adult population self-describe themselves as artists from those being sold in these slick galleries to those selling in the street markets downtown.
There are two state museums at the hill and a large plaza linking them  The Museum of Indian Arts and Culture does not allow photography but has some choice exhibits, it is associated with an anthropological research institute. I was very taken by an exhibit of recent origin which was a T-shirt bearing a black and white photograph of four Indians in full war gear on horse back between the captions "Homeland Security" "Fighting Terrorism since 1492". Sadly they did not have any for sale in the gift shop.
The other museum is the Museum of International Folk Art. The main exhibition was off the wall and seemed to have been curated by another Charles Wade think-a-like.
.Any way some pictures of sculptures by contemporary Indian artists from the museum plaza.
