Salmon Ruins

Salmon ruins are another planned Chaco expansion 10 miles south of Aztec on the San Juan river. They are named for the 19C homesteader whose land they were on. Built in the late 11C they were occupied by people from Mesa Verde for 50 years after the Chaco left but were completely abandoned in the late 13C and were undisturbed until excavated in the 1970s.
The Museum and visitor centre/research centre appeared deserted when we visited although we knew there were 3 people and a dog inside they ppppaid no attention to the desk so we just put money in the box and went ahead so I know little about it and will just show the pictures. It's all getting a bit Knossos anyway, seen one Minoan Palce seen them all.
