PPHM - Dinosaurs, Oil and Windmills.

The pan-handle has a fossil field so the museum had a good collection of dinosaurs and early mammals. That top one's a rhinosauros. Then there's an Allosaurus

Harlan's Ground Sloth

and Scotts Horse

and finally a plains bison

The conditions leading to fossils also led to oil and there was a large section on the industry the most interesting artifact being this 1925 rig. Fullsize.

Of course oil isn't the only thing they pum out of the ground. The High Plains have little surface water so it was only when they devloped windmills to pump water  at the turn of the 20c that they could really ranch there and the museum has a collection of farm windmills.
